Reviews
A well maintained National Park with a beautiful camping and picnic grounds, located along Hawkesbury river. Sufficient nos of bbq and covered sitting sheds. It has historical sights within. Home to kangaroos and wallabies and natural fauna. Seen jet skiing and fishing in the river. Wheelchair friendly. Clean and soothing environment for relaxation during weekend.
Great recreational area. Campground, day visitors area, historic homestead. $8 per day per vehicle payable at the park or you can buy an annual pass online.
Nice campsite on the Hawkesbury.
Plenty of space to stretch out and explore and we saw plenty of wildlife.
We had a large group and had plenty of space but camping is only allowed in a smaller section so you are camping fairly close to everyone else.
Good facilities with clean toilets and running hot water and loads of fire pits and bbq areas.
The let down was due to a lot of temporary fencing which is a blemish on the national park.
Understand the river banks may be soft after floods but the position of the fencing made the camp site feel small and we couldn't really get close to the river to appreciate it.
Such a peaceful spot to have a quiet family bbq next to Hawkesbury river. You can spot so many wallabies and kangaroos up close. The sheds are by the river with toilets in easy access.
You can go fishing in the river too. It was very quiet with a few families in the shed.
The picnic sheds are far in between so parking next to it with more than one car is practical. A bit dusty especially when cars are coming in but as long as they slow down it's not too bothersome. Quite a few speed boats and jet skis on the river. Flat grounds for badminton and soccer. Bbq facilities and a toilet near the camp grounds. It would be nice if there are showers too because we thought of camping next time. Not sure if there's another toilet with showers inside the camp grounds though. Lots of kangaroos about for pictures. Overall a great place for picnic coming from Blacktown area.
Just pulled into it by accident. Did not park there. Surrounding country is great and green
Loved this place. Everything you want for a great day with family and friends. Sheds, bbqs, and the Hawkesbury River nearby.Plenty friendly kangaroos in their wildlife
Amazing campground and picnic area for a relaxing day
